Happy Cooking Fathead!

Happy Cooking Fathead! this is the inscription my sister wrote in the cover of my very first cookbook :) I think I was 16 and the cookbook was the CWA Country Women's Association Cookbook, This started my collection and my love of cooking.

How to start my little blog? well my Name is Karen and I live in Perth Western Australia with my partner Daniel and my Maltepoo Toby :)

I have decided to start a blog to inspire me too cook! you see I just love to cook...and I buy SO many foodie magazines and cookbooks, and then I never make anything from them, I just look at the pictures and earmark the recipies to make for a day that never comes! I keep making the excuse that I am time poor, which I am....but its not that bad surely?

So as of Yesterday I have made the decision that Sunday's are my day to cook, and to cook something out of one of my many magazines and books. I will of course use my very limited photographic skills to record my efforts. It may be that I cook on other days as well...........(Daniel will be pleased to hear this as he does most of the weekday cooking!)

This will also be a record to not only keep me honest about cooking, but also as a record where I can find recipies easily without looking through a million books to find it!

I also hope that from this blog others get some inspiration to get into their kitchen and cook up a storm!

Along the way I would also like to blog recipies for my grown children, who both love to cook and to pass some family favourites on to them :)

And lastly (a little ambitious I know) I would like to cook a whole book of recipies from front cover to back cover a la Julie & Julia....maybe I will start with Margaret Fulton and keep it Australian. It won't be for a while though!

Anyway that's the plan :) and if I ever end up with any followers, I hope you enjoy and interact with comments and suggestions.
